Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the Hyper Parameter Oasis service ("Service"), operated by Ruan Haarhoff ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to this AUP. This policy exists to protect the integrity of the Service and all users on the platform.

2. Permitted Uses

You may use the Service to:

• Submit experiment configurations and results via the API
• Receive configuration proposals to guide your parameter search
• Track, visualise, and analyse your experiment history
• Integrate the Service into your existing workflows and pipelines
• Use the Service for personal, academic, or commercial purposes

3. Prohibited Uses

You may not use the Service to:

• Resell, sublicense, or provide access to the Service to third parties without our written consent
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the underlying optimization engine or algorithms
• Submit fraudulent, synthetic, or deliberately misleading experiment data intended to corrupt platform-wide optimization history
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent token limits, rate limits, or usage restrictions
• Use automated scripts or bots to generate API traffic beyond normal usage patterns
• Probe, scan, or test the security of the Service or its infrastructure
• Attempt to access other users' data, accounts, or experiment results
• Use the Service for any purpose that violates applicable law or regulation
• Transmit malicious code, viruses, or disruptive data via the API

4. Token and API Usage

The Service operates on a prepaid token model. Tokens are consumed when you request configuration proposals. You are responsible for monitoring your balance. We do not provide refunds for consumed tokens except at our sole discretion.

The Service accepts numerical experiment parameters and returns numerical configuration proposals. It does not generate content, make decisions on your behalf, or process personal data about individuals.

Abuse of the API — including artificially inflating usage, testing stolen payment credentials, or any pattern consistent with fraud — will result in immediate account suspension and forfeiture of any remaining balance.

5. Beta Service

The Service is currently in beta. Features may change, be removed, or behave unexpectedly. We reserve the right to modify usage limits, token costs, and API behaviour during this period without prior notice.

6. Private Beta Access

Access granted outside of normal paid channels (e.g. beta tester tokens) is provided at our sole discretion and may be revoked at any time. Such access is non-transferable and must not be shared.

7. Enforcement

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service, with or without notice, for any violation of this AUP. Repeated or severe violations may result in permanent account closure and forfeiture of any remaining token balance.

We are not obligated to disclose the specific reason for enforcement action where doing so would compromise platform security or an ongoing investigation.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
